Rules & Scoring

Bettor Together is a cooperative fantasy sports platform that lets you make fantasy bets on player props and the outcome of games where you partner up with friends in a contest.

Just like real-world sports betting, you can see all the betting options that are available and place bets, only with a fake money budget. Rather than playing “against the house” you are competing against other users who are also making picks. At the end of a contest, the individual(s) with the highest balance(s) win. You can stay 100% liquid, pick and choose what bets to make, and decide how much fantasy money you want to risk with every bet.

We offer these one-of-a-kind contests for NFL | NBA | NCAA FB | NCAA BB | PGA.

All contests are “single day” only for one specific sport. In some cases, not all games may be in a contest whereas others may include everything available that day. For example, NFL Sunday – All Games as compared to NFL Sunday – Early Games, etc.

It is Bettor Together. All paid-entry contests are cooperative game play.

After joining a contest, you will be prompted to invite a friend.

If you do not have a friend that accepts your invite, you will get automatically matched with someone else 30 minutes before the contest begins that also has not yet been matched.

Each team member will end up with 50% of the budget ($5,000 each).

Each team member makes their own picks for their own entry, just like you would if you were playing completely solo, but the two fantasy money total(s) are combined for one team-entry total.

Teams also get to collaborate for applying a 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% bonuses to specific bets which can be spent between the team. This collaborative process involves one team member asking the other for approval on spending one of the bonuses via the bonus option presented when betting. If a request is made, the teammate is alerted to approve. Applying a bonus requires teammate acceptance while the bet is still available. It also requires the teammate make the same bet (the bonus applies to both sides). This happens automatically. Bonuses are a multiplier. For example:

Patrick Mahomes (QB – KC)
320+ passing yards
-120 Odds (this is 5/6 fractional odds)

  • No bonus = $100 bet to win $83.33 with a total payout of $183.33
  • 25% bonus = $100 bet to win $83.33 + 25% ($20.83) with a total payout of $204.16
  • 50% bonus = $100 bet to win $83.33 + 50% ($41.67) with a total payout of $225.00
  • 75% bonus = $100 bet to win $83.33 + 75% ($62.50) with a total payout of $245.83
  • 100% bonus = $100 bet to win $83.33 + 100% ($83.33) with a total payout of $266.66

The bonus process is straight forward:

  • Teammate 1 makes a bet and also request a 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% bonus be applied
  • Teammate 2 is alerted in the notifications to approve the bonus
  • If Teammate 2 approves:
    • The system checks to ensure the bet is still available in general
    • The system checks to make sure they too have the funds to make the same bet
    • The exact same bet for teammate 2 is made (same pick / fantasy $ amount)
      • Thus, an individual bet slip is generated in the contest for teammate 2
    • The bonus is applied is that bonus increment is no longer available
    • Teammate 1 is alerted that teammate 2 approved the request
    • The individual bet slip shows the bonus applied (no longer pending)

Standard. Favorites in sports betting are always shown with a – value in front of the number such as -120. Numbers are always rounded up to the nearest hundredth (actual change / real world $).

  • Bet Amount / Odds Amount * 100 = To Win Value
  • Bet Amount + To Win Value = Payout

Here is an example scenario:

Bet Odds Fractional Odds To Win Payout
$100 -200 1 / 2 $50 $150

Standard. Underdogs in sports betting are always shown with a + value in front of the number such as +200.

$100 +200 2 / 1 $200 $300

Bettor Together does not have a “vig, vigorish, or juice” of any kind as there are no charges for taking a bet since all bets are with fantasy money. Payouts simply occur if a bet is successful as noted.

Each contest has a stated entry fee, known as a rake %, such as 10% whereas the prize pool for the contest is the entire amount of entries (or stated guaranteed prize) minus 10% of the entry fee.

For example, a 10 user contest at $10 entry per user = $90 in prizes, $10 kept by the platform.

Bettor Together also has a free play system in the form of tokens, designed for solo play.

Token gameplay is a great way to individually experience Bettor Together without any cost. This is ideal for people living in states that do not allow paid-entry fantasy sports contests (or) those Bettor Together is not yet operating in due to regulatory requirements.

  • Token contests are 100% free to enter
  • Prizes that are issued for winning are tokens (contributing to a total token balance)
  • The total tokens a user earns in a contest accumulates across all their token contests
  • At the end of the month, the users with the most token(s) win prizes
  • At the end of the month, the token total resets for all users
  • All token gameplay is for solo entries (no team play)

For example, a contest might be “NFL – All Day Sunday (Tokens)” and it would have all the exact same betting options as paid-entry contests, without bonuses since there is no team play. The user enters the contest, spends their fantasy money just the same, and if they win, they earn tokens.

If a user never joined and won a token contest, they’d simply retain their 0 token balance all month which resets at the start of each month.

*** Note that TOKEN GAMEPLAY is for solo entries only (there is no team-entry options for tokens).

Prizes are set by the admin before each upcoming month. The prize associated with each rank is shown on the leaderboard for each ranked position.

Leaderboard Tiebreakers

In the event 2 or more users have the same exact number of tokens and are tied for a leaderboard rank, tiebreaker scenarios transpire as follows:

1st Tie Breaker = Total # of public contests played
2nd Tie Breaker = Biggest win
3rd Tie Breaker = Age of Account

This methodology is meant to incentivize participation, then reward the biggest win, and lastly, if a tie remains, the date/timestamp of the account’s creation is used to reward the individual. The remaining users simply bump down to the next rank.

Bettor Together offers live fantasy betting options for NFL | NBA | NCAA FB | NCAA BB | PGA. Each sport has its own unique betting options in terms of player prop bets and in-game options. All bets placed in contests are “single bets” and are not combined, parlayed, etc. with other bets.

  • Each contest is always sport specific
  • Betting options are 100% based on live odds provided by our data provider
  • All bets involve “money line” based betting values

Users can choose to remain 100% liquid (meaning you keep your entire budget when you enter a contest) though that typically will not result in a win. There are no minimum pick requirements. There are no limits on the maximum number of bets you can place either.

As far as individual wagers within a contest, each bet has a minimum value as follows:

  • For fantasy money, the minimum bet is $100 per bet ($10,000 starting budget)
  • For tokens, the minimum bet is 10 per bet (1,000 starting budget)

After entering a contest, you will be able to start making bets if you desire. Each team member has a $5,000 budget to start with (50% of the team’s collective total).

After a contest locks and begins, betting action can continue until the contest is over.

Live betting options are 100% based on what the data provider is providing. For example, the pre-game odds for betting on a specific game may still be available shortly after the game begins before anyone scores. Once a score happens, the odds are likely to change, and thus, the bet is no longer available, however, a new betting option may become available.

  • Our data feed updates every 1 minute to check for bet removals & additions
  • When submitting a bet, we check if the bet is still eligible
  • Team bonuses “acceptance” made by a teammate is checked to see if the bet is still eligible (whereas the bet itself may have been submitted, but the bonus may or may not be able to be applied still depending on if the bet itself is still available)

Users who join a contest and do not invite anyone or have any invitations accepted will be merged with other users in the same situation.

  • 30 minutes before the contest begins, “team” entries that remain solo (those who have not yet had a friend/partner accept an invite) will be automatically paired with other entrants in the same situation.

The Bettor Together system merges entries based on a fair play formula where we try to balance users according to their history.

  • Odd teams out (if an odd number of entries occurred or if there were an odd number of “team” entries desired), the remaining team not paired will be removed from the contest and have their entry fee refunded.

Obviously, with a paid-entry contest, everyone has an incentive to participate and win, but the best experience is to invite a teammate before getting auto-paired if possible.

Viewing the bet slips made by opponents is unavailable before a contest begins (during the pre-game bet times). Once a contest begins, bets that are made are available for viewing. A user can view another user’s bets by clicking on their individual entry (or team entry and then accessing an individual team) where the log of all bets can be viewed which corresponds to the total. Essentially, this is a ledger documenting how a solo entry or team entry has reached its current total.

  • Contests lock for new entries 30 minutes before the first sporting event in the contest
  • Viewing your teammates picks is allowed before the lock time

Once you have placed a bet, it cannot be removed, edited, changed, or cancelled in any capacity. The funds are locked, and the bet is placed. Once you have accepted a team invitation, you cannot withdraw. You are part of that team. There is no way to remove yourself after making an entry.

All bets are 100% unique. You can place however many bets on the same game or prop as you want, but each bet is its own unique wager. There is no “editing” of the original bet.

In the event two or more users result in having the exact same fantasy money at the end of a contest, the prizes associated with each rank are tallied and then divided evenly.

For example, if 1st place = $100, 2nd place = $50, 3rd place = $25, 4th place = $0, then:

Rank Username(s) Fantasy $ Prize
1 GoPackGo44 & Zombiemonkey $13,454.50 $100
2 SarahBears22 & H4dSquz3 $12,915.44 $37.50
3 Tom403 & Tim441 $12,915.44 $37.50
4 Mat8hG & Bungal024 $12,871.00 $0

As you can see, 2nd place $50 + 3rd place $25 = $75 total. $75 divided by two (since the combined prize is split between 2 rank spots), equates to $37.50 total per rank spot.

Prize money is split equally between users and shows on the log as a split prize with the actual prize in the financial tally / ledger line showing the user’s individual portion of the prize.

Guaranteed contests set to run no matter what will have a [G] icon associated with them as set by the admin. Contests not set to guaranteed must be 100% full in order to run. Contests that do not fill and are not guaranteed will expire and automatically refund any entry fee paid.

There are no multi-entry contests.

Any paid entry contest will only allow 1 entry per user. Spend your budget wisely. This is in place to prevent people from hedging against themselves and diluting the gameplay experience.

All data found within Bettor Together is based on the data we receive from a 3rd party data provider, SportsData.io. We are not able to change or manipulate stats in any way. We settle contests typically 1 hour after, and no more than 24 hours after, the end of the sporting event(s) associated with the athletes involved. Upon getting the “final box score” and settled statistics, Bettor Together finalizes contests.

In the event of statistical corrections transpiring after we have settled a contest, Bettor Together withholds the right to re-run and reverse winning(s) and/or leave results alone as settled where we may consider the results those that were settled at the time. In some scenarios, Bettor Together may also elect to compensate people who would have won had it not been for a stat problem as we see fit. These extremely rare situations are handled on a case-by-case basis by our service team.
